Emotur Lab at European Tourism Day: Leading the Future of Tourism from the Heart of Brussels

26 Jan 2026

EMOTUR Lab solidified its position as an international benchmark by participating with its own stand at European Tourism Day, the sector’s most important institutional event organized by the European Commission. Under the banner “Neurotourism Technologies & Canarias Living Lab”, the lab presented a pioneering immersive experience based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Virtual Reality (VR).

A Science-Based “Teletransportation” Experience Attendees at the event experienced firsthand our “AI and VR-based Teletransportation Experience.” This demonstration was not merely technological; it was a showcase of how EMOTUR Lab, as the site of the world’s first neurotourism laboratory, uses science to reveal what the tourist feels but does not say.

Revealing the Hidden: The Value of Applied Neuroscience Within this European forum, we reinforced our differential narrative: at EMOTUR, we don’t just analyze data; we apply science to explain true human behavior that traditional surveys cannot reach. We identify what the tourist feels but does not think, and what they experience but do not say.

This analytical capability has allowed projects like EUROEMOTUR to conclude with historic results:

  • 100 SMEs supported in their digital maturity diagnostics.

  • 46 Eye-tracking analyses conducted to optimize emotional response on social media and websites.

  • 100 content analysis reports with over 54,000 words processed.

Emotur Lab is the international benchmark in advanced tourism research. Endorsed by the Shanghai Ranking and host of the UNESCO Chair of Tourism and Sustainable Economic Development, it houses the world’s first neurotourism laboratory. As a technology center recognized by the European Union and a signatory of the Tourism Transition Pathway (TTP), it leads projects such as Spain Living Lab (SLL), Euroemotur, and Gastrotour
