Canary Islands and Senegal are stepping up their partnership with a new collaboration agreement between EMOTUR LAB and the National School of Hotel and Tourism Training of Senegal (ENFHT). This strategic alliance is part of the Spain Living Lab initiative—specifically the Canary Islands Living Lab—aimed at boosting training, technology transfer, and innovation in the tourism sector.

ENFHT joins as a key partner at a time when Senegal is emerging as one of Africa’s fastest-growing economies. The IMF projects Senegal’s GDP will grow 9.3% in 2025, while the African Development Bank estimates 10.2%. Tourism already accounts for 7% of GDP, creates 150,000+ direct jobs, and generates around $1 billion annually.

The partnership will create an international Living Lab ecosystem, allowing joint projects between the Canary Islands and Senegal. These labs will promote knowledge transfer, innovative tourism management solutions, and new sustainable opportunities for both regions.
