Over 1,000 professionals join the future of AI and Neurotourism at the “Tourism Reimagined” webinar.

08 Apr 2026

On March 26th, the tourism sector sent a powerful message. The webinar “Tourism Reimagined: AI, VR & Neurotourism for a Resilient Future” was more than just an information session; it was a massive event that brought together over 1,000 professionals, turning the virtual room into an epicenter of innovation and strategic debate.

This record-breaking attendance is a clear signal: the integration of emerging technologies and the study of the human experience are no longer future options—they are the current priority for industry leaders.

For the EMOTUR team, it was a privilege to participate as speakers alongside renowned experts, providing a practical vision based on real-world applications from the Euroemotur and Canarias Living Lab projects.

Our intervention focused on demonstrating how neurotourism and AI are moving from the laboratory to the actual market. All of this is backed by the scientific rigor of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), ranked No. 1 in Spain according to the Shanghai Ranking in the Hospitality & Tourism Management category.

What we learned from those 1,000+ attendees is that resilience does not mean returning to 2019 models. The sector’s true strength now lies in building an ecosystem that is:

  • Data-driven: Replacing guesswork with analytical certainty.

  • Tech-enhanced: Using AI and Virtual Reality to enhance, not replace, the journey.

  • Emotion-centered: Applying neurotourism to understand what truly drives the modern traveler.

Did you miss it?

We would like to thank the European Commission for organizing this gathering and every single attendee who kept the chat buzzing with questions and insights.

For those who couldn’t join us live, the organizers will soon release the session recordings and the policy reports derived from the webinar. The future of tourism isn’t just being imagined; it is being executed today.
