Gastrotour: Redefining Wine & Culinary Tourism

13 Mar 2026

Gastrotour is redefining the wine tourism and gastronomy sectors through education, innovation, and industry collaboration. This project not only modernizes processes but restructures the value chain of culinary tourism, transforming it into a highly technologically competitive sector.

By integrating cutting-edge digital tools, Gastrotour enables destinations in Georgia and South Africa to make a qualitative leap toward Tourism 4.0, where innovation is the core driver of sustainable growth and market differentiation.

Emofood as an Innovation Engine: Our contribution transforms traditional gastronomy into experience-based innovation:

  • Advanced Sensory Analysis: We leverage our laboratory know-how to measure and predict tourists’ emotional responses using neuromarketing techniques.

  • Design of Disruptive Gastronomic Products: Emofood allows consortium companies to shift from an intuitive offering to one scientifically designed with precision.

  • Digitization of Heritage: We translate the cultural richness of participating regions into actionable data for sensory marketing and experience management.

The project establishes an innovation network connecting Georgia, South Africa, the Czech Republic, Portugal, and Spain. This alliance enables the exchange of educational solutions and state-of-the-art industrial tools, strengthening the link between academic research and the business ecosystem.
